Sensex firm; DLF, Reliance Infra, RCom up

At 1:10 pm, Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex was at 9305.34, up 340.14 points or 3.79 per cent. The 30-share index touched an intra-day high of 9406.26 and a low of 9208.58.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty was 2820.35, up 3.90 per cent or 105.95 points. The broader index touched a high of 2841.15 and a low of 2714.70.

BSE Midcap Index was up 0.84 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index was up 1.12 per cent.

DLF (7.11%), Reliance Infrastructure (6.77%), Reliance Communications (6.74%), Tata Power (6.56%) and Tata Steel (6.40%) were the top Sensex gainers.

Maruti Suzuki (-0.17%) was the lone loser.

Market breadth was positive on the BSE with 1434 advances and 770 declines.

Following a surge in Asian markets, Europe is expected to open sharply higher suggests stock futures. Germany’s DAX futures were up 6.1 per cent and France’s CAC jumped 6.6 percent higher.
