HCL Infosystems soars on getting contract from Gujarat Govt. for IT deployment in schools

HCL Infosystems has entered into a contract of over Rs 110 crore with Government of Gujarat for implementation of biometric attendance & computer aided learning systems. As many as 7000 schools in the state with over 1000 schools under Tribal Department & over 6000 under Education Department has been targeted for IT deployment.

HCL Infosystems is currently trading at Rs 154 per share, up 4.45 point or 2.98% on the BSE The stock opened at Rs 159.40 compared to its previous close of Rs 149.55. Intraday, the counter has touched a high and a low of Rs 170 and Rs 152.65, respectively. So far 1,10,791 shares of the company were traded on the BSE. The stock has touched its 52-week high of Rs 188.80 on October 22, 2009 and a 52-week low of Rs 66 on March 6, 2009.

The scrip has gained 0.59% since past one week and 1.85 % since last one month. Gujarat Government has awarded this contract for state’s tribal development. Under the agreement, HCL will supply PCs with biometric finger print scanner and UPS to over 7000 schools across the state. Initially, the project will be implemented in two districts, it will be then extended to remaining schools.

The company would also be implementing Biometric based attendance system and would offer facility management and run teacher training programs to supply and implement robust education software effectively.
